Affordable, effective, and useful college classes is there anything better? Well Heartland Community College offers all that and more to students through College NOW. College NOW is a program at Heartland Community College which allows students to take college level courses to get dual credit for both high school and college. They do this by allowing high school students enrolled in the program to take the same classes as traditional college students. The ability to take college classes has many benefits including reducing college cost. They do this for homeschool students in two main ways. The first one is by offering classes for a lower price compared to a typically four-year college. The second way is they offer a 50% tuition waiver to in-district homeschool students in the College NOW Program. The classes are enjoyable and effective. For example, in the 2023 fall semester I took English 101 with Professor Seehuus, and it was one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever taken. It greatly improved my writing skills. This program allows a taste of what college classes could look like, allowing for an easier transition from high school to college.
