If you love music and want to improve your singing abilities among other homeschoolers, BACHS is for you. BACHS – Bloomington Area Homeschool Choir – is a wonderful opportunity for homeschoolers ages 8-18. The choir is directed by Mr. Jeff Miller and meets every other Wednesday afternoon. The choir is split into the Treble (younger kids) choir and Concert (older kids) choir and has a Christmas and spring concert each year.
BACHS offers homeschoolers the chance to experience singing in a group, practice sightreading, singing in parts, and learning to read music better. The Concert Choir is audition only, but it does not require great musical talent to be admitted. It is a fine arts program that I have enjoyed for the past semester and a half. One of the best benefits of choir is being challenged. Each practice I am challenged to learn new parts and focus on singing better.
